Portrait #11

This portrait of my Love in Photoshop was one of the most interesting in my entire experience.
It was the first time I decided to try working on a specific pipeline, composing the work layer by layer and going from larger details to smaller ones and focusing only on certain accent areas.
It was also an unconventional way for me to work with composition and backgrounds. It was an experiment for me to paint a figure in full length. Therefore, to keep the emphasis on the portrait in the entire composition, I decided to resort to this non-standard solution of leaving half of the work blank, to focus attention on the most interesting parts of the picture for me.
This background encouraged me to be more daring with the brushes and to embrace the strokes as an artistic element that is essential to the overall composition.
This accentuation, combined with my new approach to painting and my past experience with imitating dry pastels, helped me to achieve a result I had never seen before in my experience.
