The main objective for me while working on this landscape was to improve my skill in oil pastel. I took Cézanne's work, but did not try to replicate it completely, but rather based on the colors in the painting, trying to execute it in a different technique from the original. The oil pastels worked well to mimic the oil paint strokes and impressionistic style of the original, which served as a link between the original's softer execution in the original and the more expressive style in my artwork.
