Viking

While working on this 3d model I have tried to collect all my knowledge on creating a 3d models by full pipeline - from modeling a high poly version of a model in ZBrush and a low poly version in Maya to baking textures in Marmoset Toolbag and colorizing it in Substance Painter.
While looking for inspiration for this model I had come across a drawing by the artist Hicham Habchi (https://hichamhabchi1.artstation.com/).
This drawing seemed very good to transfer to 3d, because of the great opportunity to practice creating different materials and textures such as wool, metal, fabric, leather, and many others. I also wanted to take a more realistic approach to textures to diversify the model visually.
When creating the model in ZBrush, I still used a lot of the zremesher and projection tools to optimize the number of polygons on the model.
The most creative part for me was drawing the textures after baking a high poly version of the mash into a low poly model.
The final render was done in Marmoset Toolbag and styled in Photoshop. And the turntable gif was also created in Marmoset Toolbag.
